Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Programs

At Your Path to Health we have Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists on staff to help manage your heart or lung condition. Our allied health staff work closely together to ensure you get the best care. 

Our Exercise Physiology unit run the Lungs in Action program as part of our Exercise Under Supervision sessions. Your program will be tailored for those with both cardiac and lung conditions.

Lungs in Action is a Lung Foundation Australia’s community based maintenance exercise program for people with stable chronic lung conditions who have completed a pulmonary rehabilitation.

It is also suitable for people with stable lung and or stable heart failure (Class I, II, and III).

Our Physiotherapist unit may also assist you to manage you heart or lung condition, this may include:

-Help devising a suitable exercise program – We can work with your EP to do this!
-Uncomfortable breathing (called dyspnoea) that limits your daily activities or ability to exercise
-Persistent secretions or sputum that are difficult to bring up
-Chest tightness or stiffness after open heart surgery
-Pain or incontinence when you cough
-Difficulty using your puffer or respiratory device
